91st Active COVID-19 Outbreak In Lane Co. Identified In Rosboro Sawmill

Lane County Public Health announced a new COVID-19 outbreak, this one at Rosboro Sawmill in Springfield. Officials note it’s a combination of workplace and household transmission. So far, five positive cases are associated.

There are currently 81 active outbreaks countywide. Spokesperson Jason Davis said the median age of people involved in outbreaks is rising—it’s now 32 years old.

Lane Co. Public Health officials say, since learning of the outbreak, Rosboro Sawmill staff are working diligently to stop the spread of COVID-19 in the workplace.

He said one reason is that “college-age” clusters are becoming less frequent while others are on the rise.

“Our workplace outbreaks is slightly growing,” he said. “Last week we were at 18%–now we’re at 20.1%. And our long-term care facility outbreaks—we’re seeing some growth there as well, they’re currently at 18%.”
