Lane County Public Health reported 71 additional cases of COVID-19

Eugene, OR – According to the statement, the number of local deaths caused by the virus has held steady at 113 for a week. 24 local residents are currently hospitalized for the virus, six of whom are in intensive care.

Lane County will remain in the extreme risk category until February 11 along with 25 other Oregon counties.

Gov. Kate Brown said:

“Most of the state remains in the extreme risk category. This is an important reminder for all Oregonians to continue to do their part by abiding by the health and safety guidelines in place.”

Lane County Public Health announced that there is a workplace cluster of COVID at the McDonald’s at 55 River Ave. in Eugene. Seven staff members have contracted the virus so far.

21,857 vaccines were distributed in Lane County. A total of 5,142 residents have received both of their doses. Lane County Public Health received 1,700 doses this week for educators across the 16 public school districts  in Lane County.
