What To Expect At Eugene’s ‘Black Lives Matter’ Protest on Sunday

After protests got out of hand on Friday night, the city of Eugene enforced a 9 p.m. curfew on Saturday night, and activists want to make it clear on expectations for Sunday’s protest.

Greg Evans, a member of the Eugene City Council, advises that if anyone is trying to protest Saturday night, they should just go home. The Civil Rights Activist also mentions the goal for Sunday’s event is to raise awareness on racial equality, in light of the death of George Floyd, who died in the hands of police last week.

“You know, I hope that this event opens a dialogue in this community about the effects of racism. We suffer from it on a daily basis, I have lived here for 35 years,” says Evans.
